Self Taught Experience:
I have 2 years of self-taught front-end web development experience and 9 years of making websites using web services and web editors. Although I consider myself an intermediate, my knowledge in web design and development far surpasses that of many others who think table based, frame based, and Flash based websites are still "In".
Below are standard rules I adhere to whenever I design sites. They are:
- Design using Responsive Web Design techniques.
Responsive Web Design is the philosophy of designing websites not in the form of print media as many sites are done, but designing for the Web as its own media. You right now are looking at a responsive website. If you're on a desktop or laptop, resize your browser and watch how this site shapes to adapt to the screen. That's responsive web design, and it's one of the core web techniques I practice.
- Design FULL HTML5 Compliant Websites.
I care about making my websites adhere to web standards. A website that's HTML5 compliant is a website that's modern and utilizes the latest Web technologies. W3C are in charge of setting Web standards. And yes this site is 100% HTML5 Compliant. You can check here.
- Design using the latest web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JQuery.
When I design and develop websites I use native Web technologies not all Flash like many other so-called Web designers. Sites I do are coded with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JQuery.
- Mobile friendly.
Millions of people browse the Web on their phone nowadays, therefor, having a website that adapts is critical. Mobile is important to me, so chances are, if I design your site, I will adapt to mobile devices.
- Design with Accessibility in mind.
Good Web design also means designing for those with problems hearing or seeing. You won't find 12 point fonts on my websites.
- Good Typography
Good Web designers know just how important having a really good font on a website is. It makes all the difference.
- Never design entire websites in table, frame, or Flash based layouts.
I am still amazed at some "professional" websites I see. Many Web designers still design entire websites in Adobe Flash animation platform. Although many of these site may look "cool" and "flashy", they are not natively designed. Websites like those also fail horribly in typography, mobile, accessibility, and usability. I use Flash, but not to design a whole website that was never Adobe's intended use.

WordPress is very popular CMS system for designing blogs and personal websites. Millions of people have WordPress blogs/sites. WordPress is robust and has a huge community behind it making themes, plugins, and all kinds of stuff.
I offer hosted WordPress. That means, instead of you using wordpress.com and having to deal with managing your site, I install WordPress on my servers and manage your site.
I do not design custom WordPress sites, instead managing themes and add-ons bought for your project.
I host WordPress sites on my dedicated Amazon EC2 Cloud servers. This means your WordPress site will run and perform much better than if you were to host your own server at home or in the office.

Custom Design:
Custom Designs are hand coded websites that I mockup, design, and code in Adobe Dreamweaver. If all you want is a custom website and no hosting, this is the project you want.
After getting a feel for what you want from your website, I get to mocking up in my notepads and Photoshop working on your websites layout. Then, your design is taken into Dreamweaver where I turn the mockup into a live website!
Because there is no hosting in this project offer, once I finish your site, you can upload the files to your own web hosting provider.
